About Us

Department of Youth Resources & Sports

Government of Nagaland

In tracing the roots of our administrative journey, one is led back to 1976 when sports and youth management functioned within the Department of School Education. A major shift came in 1986 with the emergence of the Department of Physical Education, Sports & Youth Welfare. In 1993, the department evolved into its present full identity as the Department of Youth Resources and Sports.

At the heart of our mission lies advancement of sports through infrastructure, tournaments, coaching camps, and academies, while building pathways for participation at regional, national, and international platforms.

Our vision goes beyond the playing field. We channel youth energy into constructive opportunities in music, art, adventure, and personality development to promote holistic growth. Our guiding mantra is: Explore, Empower, Excel.
