About Us

Department of Youth Resources & Sports

Government of Nagaland

In tracing the roots of our administrative journey, one is led back to the genesis of sports and youth management, an endeavor initially nestled within the Department of School Education as far back as 1976.

The evolutionary tale takes a significant turn in 1986, heralding the distinct emergence of the Department of Physical Education, Sports & Youth Welfare. In 1993, the department blossomed into its full-fledged identity as the Department of Youth Resources and Sports.

At the heart of our mission lies the advancement of sports through infrastructure, tournaments, coaching camps, and academies, while promoting participation at regional, national, and international platforms.

Our vision extends beyond sporting arenas. From music and art to adventure and personality development, we channel youth potential into constructive avenues for holistic growth. Our mantra: Explore, Empower, Excel.
